Getting started with ContextFlow
Use ContextFlow to reduce distractions and work through web pages with a reading Navigator and an in-page AI assistant. Start with a single article and add the tools that help you stay with it.
1. Install the Chrome extension
Open the ContextFlow Chrome Web Store listing and choose Add to Chrome. Open an ordinary web page after installation; browser-internal pages and the store itself do not allow these extension features. You can begin using free local features without an account.
2. Set up blocking or start a focus lock
Open the extension settings to create a policy for distracting websites. Choose an always-on rule, schedule, or daily limit. For a specific reading task, start a focus lock on the active page and choose single-page or website scope, session conditions, and gentle or strict mode.

In extension settings, choose a supported provider, enter your API key, and select a model. Open the in-page AI panel to ask questions about the page or a selected passage. Your key stays on your device; requests go directly to your provider, whose usage charges apply separately. Check important answers against the source text.

Select a passage on the page and use the extension’s selection or content-grabbing controls to narrow the context for your question. This is useful when an article contains navigation, comments, or several topics. Availability depends on the page and your plan.
Accounts, plans, and history
Sign in when you want the supported account features, such as syncing reading history and settings. The account page contains history, export, focus statistics, and billing controls. Some tools require a paid entitlement; review the current plan comparison before choosing a plan.
If a feature does not appear
Refresh the article after installing the extension, confirm ContextFlow is enabled in Chrome, and check its site permissions. Try a normal HTML article if the page is browser-restricted or uses an unusual layout. For AI errors, check your provider key, model, and provider balance. For help, email support@getcontextflow.app with the page URL and a description of the issue. Never include your API key or password.
